Special accommodations

Requests for special testing accommodations are made through the NCEES online registration system, My NCEES.

ADA

NCEES provides reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act as amended. If you have a documented disability, you may apply for special testing accommodations.

After you have completed registration, you will then have the opportunity to request special accommodations. Select "ADA" from the drop-down list. You will then select the disability type (learning, mental, or physical) and the types of accommodations you are requesting. If you are requesting ADA accommodations, you will be required to provide additional information including supporting documentation from a qualified professional.

Military

If you are currently serving as an active duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces, you can request to take an exam in a state or territory different from the one in which you are applying for licensure. You will have the opportunity to make this request after you register online with NCEES (deadline: February 23).

When registering, select the state where you are applying for licensure and complete your registration as if you were sitting for the exam in that state. After you have completed registration, you will then have the opportunity to request special testing accommodations. Select "military" from the list of special accommodations. You will then be asked to provide information about where you would like to sit for the exam. You will also be required to submit documentation indicating that you will be stationed outside the state where you have registered. After your request has been considered, NCEES will notify you of any accommodations granted.
