About NCEES

Summary — The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) is a national non-profit organization composed of engineering and surveying licensing boards representing all states and U.S. territories. NCEES develops, scores, and administers the examinations used for engineering and surveying licensure throughout the United States. NCEES also provides services facilitating professional mobility for licensed engineers and surveyors. NCEES is an accredited standards developer with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

We write and score the exams required for engineering and surveying licensure.
We provide exam information and study materials.
We offer the Records Program, a service to professionals to facilitate the process of obtaining licensure in multiple jurisdictions.
We publish Licensure Exchange, a bimonthly newsletter providing information, opinion, and ideas regarding the licensure of engineers and surveyors.
We compile and publish the licensing requirements survey, as reported in 2005 by the licensing boards of the United States and its jurisdictions.

NCEES has prepared these guidelines for jurisdictions and territories that have or are planning to have CPC requirements for relicensing. These guidelines raise vital issues that need to be addressed in each jurisdiction, and the provisions given may not necessarily be the final or best in any particular jurisdiction. The objective of all concerned is to establish terms which ensure that the life, health, and property of the public are protected.
