Special committees and task forces may be appointed at any time by the President for any purpose pertinent to the work of the Council. Such committee or task force are assigned charges and time for completion of its work and report to the Board of Directors.
The 2008–09 special committees and task forces are:

  • Computer Based Testing Task Force
  • Engineering Education Task Force
  • Committee on Bylaws
  • NCEES ANSI Standards Task Force

Computer Based Testing Task Force

The CBT Task Force is charged with coordinating a CBT feasibility study review of potential exam candidates to determine their exposure to and acceptance of CBT delivery, including factors such as cost, length and format of exam. The task force will also coordinate a Request for Information related to CBT and will provide a cost and time estimate for increasing the size of item banks to levels necessary for CBT.

Engineering Education Task Force

The Engineering Education Task Force is charged with

  • Developing a written analysis addressing issues noted in the Southern Zone Resolution as adopted at the 2008 Annual Meeting
  • Exploring the creation of a national clearinghouse that would carry out the activities needed to implement the requirements of the additional education requirement for engineering licensure
  • Developing a program to effectively communicate the Council’s position on the need for additional education beyond a bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Developing a White Paper on the additional education

Special Committee on Bylaws

The Special Committee on Bylaws is charged with revising the Bylaws using language recommended by the ACCA Committee and approved by the Council at the Annual Meeting.

NCEES ANSI Standards Task Force

The NCEES ANSI Standards Task Force is responsible for the definition of standards as a business strategy and for the development and maintenance of standards consistent with the mission and vision of NCEES. Membership includes the past president, one member of the Board of Directors at large, the executive director, the associate executive director, and the director of examination services.
