Summary — Below are descriptions of all NCEES special committees and task forces appointed this year:

Bachelor's +30 Task Force
Computer Based Testing Task Force
Constitution and Bylaws
Governance Task Force
Structural Exam Task Force

These groups are appointed by the NCEES President for any purpose pertinent to the work of the NCEES. A report is submitted to the Council at the next Annual Business Meeting.



Bachelor's +30 Task Force

Appointed to ensure the bachelor's +30 requirement activities are outcomes based, develop definitions for approved credits and course providers for inclusion in the Model Rules, and evaluate the provisions of the Model Rules that allow credit toward the experience requirement for candidates with advanced degrees.



Computer Based Testing Task Force

Appointed to study Computer Based Testing (CBT) to determine if this method of exam administration should be pursued in the near future.



Constitution and Bylaws

Develops appropriate language for recommended changes to the Constitution and Bylaws.



Governance Task Force

Appointed to compare the current-day practice of Member Boards and their staff with the NCEES Constitution and Bylaws definition for membership and to make recommendations for revisions.



Item Difficulty Exam Task Force

Appointed to evaluate the level of difficulty and complexity of exam items relative to minimum competency and to develop a standard to be used in exam development.



Structural Exam Task Force

Appointed to evaluate the Structural I and II examinations, analyze Member Board use of the exams and recent candidate performance, and consider the additional needs of those jurisdictions with issues of high-seismic activity.
