Big Ass Fans are large ceiling mounted fans ranging in size from 6’ to 24’ in diameter used for energy efficient air movement in both cooling and heating.
Our goal is to promote the use of fans for energy efficient comfort. ASHRAE Standard 55-2004 Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy allows elevated air speeds to be used to offset increases in space air temperature. Per the standard 160 fpm provides a 4.7° F cooling effect. In heating the fans are run at their minimum speed to stir the air in the space and destratify.

Assessment Method:
Presentations incorporate questions to assess participant learning. Follow up is a key part of each presentation to ensure learning objectives were met. Evaluations are reviewed and shared in weekly meetings of our regional managers to continually improve the methods of delivery.
