Legislation was passed during the 2006 legislative session which mandates that the Virginia Board implement a mandatory continuing education program for architects, professional engineers, and land surveyors (HB1054). The law became effective on July 1, 2006, and the Board will have to develop implement regulations for the program which will take approximately 18 to 24 months. Therefore, at this time, mandatory continuing education is not required in Virginia but will be required in the near future. |
